5/4 - Wine Dinner Series: The Importer's Table
May 04, 2025 05:00 PM until May 04, 2025 09:00 PM
Tonight, we gather for a celebration of all things soulful, honest, and delicious—a dinner that honors the producers, regions, and philosophies behind the wines imported by Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. This evening isn’t just about what’s in the glass or on the plate—it’s about the people, places, and stories that make them matter.
Kermit Lynch is a name that carries weight in the wine world—not for flash, but for integrity. As one of the most influential importers of French and Italian wine in the U.S., Kermit built his reputation by seeking out small, family-run estates that work in harmony with their land, farm with intention, and express a sense of place in every bottle. These wines don’t chase trends—they reflect terroir, history, and the quiet poetry of restraint.
In the spirit of that philosophy, we’ve crafted a menu rooted in seasonal ingredients, regional traditions, and the idea of balance. You’ll find simplicity paired with precision, and humble ingredients elevated through craft. Our aim is to spark conversation and deepen your connection to these wines and the cultures they represent.
We are honored to host this dinner with Joanie Bonfiglio of Kermit Lynch Wine Merchants—a dear family friend and one of the heartbeats of this remarkable company. Joanie cares deeply about her work and the producers she represents. Her pride for all things wine and Kermit Lynch is matched only by her warmth—she’s a true ray of sunshine. We’re excited to hear her thoughts on these wines, regions, and producers, helping us better understand the meaning and magic in every bottle.
We begin with Insalata Primavera, a bright, textured start featuring spring vegetables and creamy burrata. The two wines—one from Liguria’s seaside hills, the other from Puglia’s sun-soaked Itria Valley—contrast briny minerality with fragrant aromatic lift.
Next, the classic Raviolo al Uovo is paired with two expressions of Chianti Classico—each a deep dive into the soul of Tuscany, where Sangiovese reigns. One is regal and polished, the other rustic and energetic—both reminding us why this region continues to enchant wine lovers.
The centerpiece, Lamb Shank with Salsa Verde and Spinach Gnudi, unites boldness and nuance. It’s matched with two reds from opposite ends of Italy—one from the alpine freshness of Piedmont, the other from the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. Their contrast speaks to the range and beauty of Italian wine.
And of course, we finish with Tiramisù, because no Italian celebration is complete without it.
This dinner is our way of saying thank you—to the growers, the winemakers, the importer, and to you. These wines weren’t chosen just for their taste—they were chosen because they stand for something. They tell a story. And we’re honored to share them with you.
