11/10 - Italy: A Journey from North to South

November 10, 2024 03:30 PM until November 10, 2024 05:00 PM

Join Sommelier Ali Laivadhana and the team at MARA for our upcoming wine tasting event!

This exclusive tasting will feature four exceptional Italian wines, taking you on a journey from North to South to explore the true diversity of Italy’s wine regions. The lineup includes wines from Piedmont, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, and Sicily.

In addition to tasting each of these carefully selected wines, we’ll be offering a selection of small pupus to complement the experience. For the first time, we’re also excited to introduce a retail option, allowing you to purchase bottles of the wines you enjoyed during the event and take them home.

2022 Giulia Negri Pian delle Mole Langhe Nebbiolo:

Practicing organic farming and traditional methods, Giulia Negri delivers a traditional style Nebbiolo that is bright yet savory, with red fruits and slightly earthy backing, that would pair well with anything truffle, mushroom risotto, or a lovely fall lamb dish.  Known as the Barolo girl in Piemonte, she uses her tenacity and forward-thinking techniques to provide us with the amazing results of her small-scale production style.

2019 Podere Compriano Chianti Classico:

Quintessentially Tuscan, Rich and bright red fruits lead the way with this Chianti, delivering exactly what Podere Campriani wants. 3rd generation, this Chianti speaks of earth and Frutti di Bosco, while encompassing its vicinity to the woods, and its organically farmed terroir, the result from the Small family farms is artisanal, well-crafted, and soulful.

2022 Marisa Cuomo Ravello Bianco:

This crisp and refreshing white wine is a result of vine farming on steep, rocky terraces with exposure to sun and sea. You’ll get some lovely citrus minerality, that is light and savory, a magic only the Amalfi Coast can deliver. From an old family of Italian winemakers, Andrea Ferraioli, since 1980, along with his wife Marisa Cuomo, has set out to pursue their love and passion for indigenous grapes and ancient traditions.

2020 GrottaFumata Lato Sud Carricante:

Carricante is the white grape that shines here. So Fresh and fragrant, indigenous to Sicily, and produced with minimal intervention, Mauro and Mariangela produce citrus and herbs, all play a part in their organic and low intervention practices. The volcanic minerality and acidity gives a freshness to these indigenous Sicilian grapes, that deliver a wonderfully aromatic and quaffable product to enjoy for all occasions.
